Chiba University established the Overseas Campus including the International Exchange Center and the Berlin Office at Charité - Universit?tsmedizin Berlin to promote academic research exchange and expand educational opportunities for students.

Activities
This overseas campus, called "Chiba University Berlin Campus", is a central hub to promote diverse activities of Chiba University in Europe. It coordinates international projects and collaborations with universities and institutions in Europe including Charité. In particular, this campus strengthens the tie between Charité and Chiba University especially in preventive medicine and global health. For years, we have held intensive summer/winter programs for graduate students at both institutions, and we have also organized workshops and symposiums for academic exchange between researchers and faculty.

About Charité - Universit?tsmedizin Berlin
Charité-Universit?tsmedizin Berlin has one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. It is internationally renowned for its outstanding education and research. At Charité, there are 4 campuses and 17 centers that have approximately 100 departments and institutes. The history of Charité started in 1710 when the plague pandemic occurred. Since then, Charité has been a leading medical institution. More than half of the German Nobel Prize winners in medicine and physiology have worked at the Charité, including Robert Koch and Paul Ehrlich. Many famous Japanese medical doctors, including Ogai Mori and Shibasaburo Kitasato, also studied Western medicine at the Charité.
